Picture Update

I have a couple of blog ideas brewing in my head, but they have yet to make it to paper computer. I feel like I should give you a glimpse into our lives lately.

Snowed In
February started off with some crazy Oklahoma weather. Nate was in Dallas for work, so my amazing mom drove over so we could all be snowed in together. If she hadn't come over, I would have been alone, inside with Paisley all week and I don't know if I would have survived. I took this picture the first afternoon of the blizzard. I enjoyed trying to do the puzzle, but didn't get very far before Puma swished her tail across the table and knocked off half of my progress. Lucky for us, Jack was there to pick up (and run off with, while destroying) the pieces. Oh well, it kept me entertained for a couple of afternoons. And it made for a great picture.

Dad Love
Paisley got a new headband from Hello, Charlotte James. It is our favorite one so far. I think Nate even likes this one. :)

Plaid Five
After Nate got home from Dallas, while my mom was still in town to watch sweet P, we went over to Stach's house. *Sidenote: Stach = Staci and Zach. Its just easier.* We played Battle of the Sexes and munched on popcorn and M&Ms. We had a ton of fun (like we always do over there). We played 3 games. Nate and Zach won them all. Now I'll enlighten you on the game. Its girls vs. boys trivia. The girls ask the guys "girl" trivia, and the guys ask the girls "boy" trivia. Some of the questions were stupid easy, but some were actually challenging. Great job ladies Nate and Zach! Also, Nate and Zach were both wearing plaid shirts with jeans and Staci and I were both wearing grey hoodies, black yoga pants and argyle socks. It was pretty great.

Watching Lucy
Paisley has become a little obsessed with the animals. I was trying to take her 6 month pictures, but Lucy was a little more entertaining. Here is a video of Paisley watching Lucy and me play. Its pretty cute. Sorry about the orientation... I don't know how to fix it. Also, she was not hurt at the end!

Cool Shades
Uncle D brought Paisley some sunglasses for Valentine's Day. They are beyond cute and she doesn't mind them at all.

New Car
We bought a new car! We traded in the Mazda for a very nice (and roomy!) CRV. I am so crazy in love with it!

Swingin
Since the weather was so nice last week, we went to the park with April, Schafer and Andy. It was Paisley's first time at the park/in a swing. She had a great time and we both got worn out just watching Schafer in all his 3 year old glory.

Knit One, Purl One
I have taken on my most challenging knitting project yet. I have mastered knitting easy things like blankets, scarves,, washcloths... you know, anything square. I don't know what it will look like when I finish it, but hopefully it will resemble a hat. There is a program called Caps for Good, where knitters are encouraged to pick up those needles and knit a newborn hat. When my hat (hopefully hat) is done, I will load it up and ship it off somewhere. It will end up in the hands of a pregnant woman or new mom in Asia, South Africa or Latin America. Hopefully it actually comes together so this pretty pink yarn can help keep a new little baby girl warm.

6 months!!

I can't believe Paisley is 6 months old! Well, technically 6 months and a week and a half, which makes me a week and a half late posting this. Sorry guys, go easy on me, I have a 6 month old!
She went to the doctor last week and took her shots like a champ (not those kind of shots, party people!). She weighed in at 15 pounds, 10 ounces - up from 13 pounds, 5 ounces at 4 months. She is 25 inches long - up from 24 1/2 inches at 4 months. She is in the 40th percentile for weight and 30th for length. Her head was 16 1/2 inches, up from 16 inches 2 months ago. She is in the 40th percentile for noggin size. So, after learning all that, Dr. Schaefer came to the conclusion that she is pretty much just perfect. No argument here.
We all survived SnOklahoma (thanks, in most part, to my mom, who was here all week while Nathan was out of town)! We didn't get out at all with P, but we did take her outside to see the snow and take some pictures. She enjoyed it because it was a new thing that she could pick up and put in her mouth. That's really the only requirement when deciding if she likes a new item or not.

Paisley is doing all the things a 6 month old should be doing.
She is...
  • Sitting up like a pro
  • Laughing like crazy at any of the animals, especially Lucy, which is kind of unfortunate since Lucy is not a good dog
  • Eating more solid food
  • Really enjoying bath time, but it is really turning into play time
  • Wearing a mix of 3-6 and 6-12 month clothes
  • A morning person! (that exclamation point is very sarcastic.)
  • Able to entertain herself for 20 or 30 minutes before getting bored and frustrated
  • Knows what she wants and is usually very good at obtaining it
  • Eating every 4 or 5 hours
  • Riding in her big convertible car seat (as of today)
  • Good at communicating
  • Talking all. the. time.
  • Getting cuter everyday!
And now for some pictures of this baby girl!!
